Remco Woutersen started playing the cello at the age of 7 and received his first lessons from Andre de Graeff and Christine le Coultre and later from Maria Hol. In his pre-education at the conservatory of Zwolle he studied with Ran Varon.

Remco combined the first year of vocational training at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Ran Varon with studying chemistry. He dropped chemistry after a year in order to fully focus on music. In these years he attended masterclasses by Dmitri Ferschtman, Marcio Garneiro, Rene Berman, Jaap Kruithof and Gavriel Lipkind, among others. In 2010 he successfully completed his cello final exam.

As a soloist, Remco played the cello concertos by Lalo, Saint-Saens and Dvorak and played in various orchestras such as the Conservatory Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra and the Youth String Orchestra Constantijn.
Furthermore, he is currently active in the Kol Lev Cello Quartet, Ravivo Quartet and Trio Art, and teaches as a private teacher.
Remco has been part of the Ciconia Consort since early 2013.
