Berta Mariana Sequeira

Portuguese violinist Berta Mariana Sequeira started violin lessons at the age of 10 and studied successively at the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon, the National Superior Orchestra Academy in Lisbon and the University of Arts in Castelo Branco. She completed her Master’s degree with violinist Eeva Koskinen at the Utrecht Conservatory.
In Portugal she won prizes at various competitions, both as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles, including at Prémio Jovens Músicos Competition, Capela Competition and National Competition of Fatima and Orem Conservatory.
Berta Mariana has replaced in many orchestras and ensembles, such as the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Sem Fronteiras (guest concertmaster), New Philharmonie Utrecht, Ensemble MPMP, Almada Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra XXI.
As a soloist she performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Conservatory in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor.
She currently plays alongside Ciconia Consort, in the Libero String Orchestra, Musica Sancta Ensemble Berlin and Arte Piena.
