With the fiery and lyrical music of Piazzolla, Ginastera and Márquez, From Tales to Tango, The Soul of South America is a richly varied concert full of stories, history and passion. Music that is not only meant to be heard, but deeply felt.

At the heart of our music are curiosity, connection, and imagination. These are the qualities we wanted to capture in a new series of photographs that reflects what Ciconia – The Hague String Orchestra stands for: an international ensemble inspired by the world, firmly rooted in The Hague.

Together with acclaimed photographer Eduardus Lee, we set out not to create perfect pictures, but to capture the energy, curiosity, and joy of making music that define Ciconia. The result is a series that feels closer to who we are than ever before.

In the 26|27 season, Ciconia once again presents a series of special concerts at beautiful venues throughout the Netherlands, from The Hague to Zutphen and from Amsterdam to Zeelandic Flanders.

What happens when Christmas is celebrated with the warmth, colors, and rhythms of South America? And when the turbulent rhythms, melancholic melodies, and festive energy of the Balkans come together in a single concert?

Since December 1, Couleurs de France, Ciconia’s fifth CD for the Brilliant Classics label, has been available worldwide. Together with pianist Paolo Giacometti, Ciconia brings three French masters of the twentieth century to life. Experience the colorful sound world of Jolivet, Castérède, and Daniel-Lesur: from lyrical moments and exciting harmonies to fiery rituals and poetic romanticism.
